I love Rachel's story and these special little cast pine cones; it tells how nature brings families together across the generations. There’s a shared human experience in foraging with loved one’s, especially children. As I know from my own walks with Heath, who age three has a particular fascination for red berries!
“We have been lucky enough to go to the lake district on holiday with my mum and dad for years now. We love the place we stay at and have very special memories of the local walks, landscape, pubs, and Halloweens spent at Muncaster Castle, to name a few! The trees and the landscape are breathtaking, and the pine trees near the house drop these cute little pinecones. We have picked up many a pine cone over the years, but as my mum was approaching a big birthday, I wanted to do something special…"
"My friend had recently bought a necklace from Jessica and I had said how much I liked it, a few emails/messages later I sent a few of the pinecones we had collected into Jessica’s studio… After discussing some options, I asked if she could make 3 necklaces the same… jump forward a short while, and three beautiful silver necklaces were ready: one for my mum's special birthday, one for me and one for my daughter."
"My mum was over the moon with her necklace, and the fact that the three generations have a lasting memory of such a special place made them all the more special."
Capturing and casting customers' finds in precious metals to treasure these unique stories, is at the heart of this little business of mine. Cast and Found was founded on the belief that nature evokes strong memories and connections for us all and that jewellery should be heirlooms. It’s a joyful process to receive your parcels and to explore together how they might be transformed into keepsake jewellery.
